Introducing Verne: Son of the Moon, a creator-owned comic book by artist Marco di Carillo from Guadalajara, Mexico.
Throughout the comic there are references and allusions to the father of science fiction's most widely read tales such as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Marco's comic is a story set at the twilight of Verne's life and the end of his epic quest to find his long-lost love--and the villain who took her.
Besides the fantastic art and beautiful colors, what draws one in most about Marco's comic is how the story is told, a unique blend of science fiction and 'magical realism,' a genre very prevalent in Spanish and Mexican literature. The issue reads almost like a dream.
